Roger Woodhead has spent thirty years in Construction and Consulting Engineering.  He was chief engineer with Dillingham Construction, when it was one of the largest General Contractors in BC and active in bridge, heavy civil and marine structures.  He spent 5 years in Newfoundland with NODECO the design/build contractor for the $1.5 billion Hibernia Gravity Base Structure.  His positions included Site Development Engineering Manager on the $300 million greenfield construction site and Technical Services Manager responsible for all temporary works designs on the GBS.

 

Since founding Woodhead Consultants Inc. he has worked on an eclectic range of projects including a cut and cover rapid transit tunnel in Kuala Lumpur.  He was Design Manager at the start of this design/build contract and Project Director in the summer of 1996.  In 1998 and ’99 he was Project Engineer and QC Manager for the Contractor on an underground dumper pit and conveyor tunnel project.  In 2002 he completed a three year contract as Quality Systems Manager on a $1.2 billion SkyTrain Rapid Transit Project in Vancouver.  The project was completed on time and under budget without sacrificing quality.

 

Since then he has specialized in assisting owners, engineers and contractors to develop and implement ISO 9001 Type Quality Management Systems for a diverse range of contracts including highway maintenance, design/construction of highways and bridges and buildings.

 

He is a registered Professional Engineer in BC, a registered SE in Washington, an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, chair of the advisory panel on construction management at the BC Institute of Technology and a certified QMS2000 Lead Quality Auditor.
